How we run a migration
Migrating a data platform is different from building a new one. Most of the risk is in what nobody knows about the old estate. Our approach is designed to bring that to light early.
Five stages, each supported by its own accelerator
In practice the stages overlap, but none is skipped.
Discovery. Find out what the estate contains, runs and depends on.
Source HarvestersScoping. Decide what to migrate, in which order, and what to retire.
Legacy Data MinerTranslation. Rebuild legacy logic on the target in open, standard code.
Agentic Reverse EngineeringTesting. Compare legacy and target continuously until cutover.
Migration Testing WorkbenchOperations. Keep data quality visible and trusted after go-live.
Lineage-Gated Observability
What we hold to on every engagement
Evidence before architecture. Target design, budget and timeline follow from what the estate measurably does, not from assumptions about it.
Migrate what is used. What the business depends on goes first. What nobody uses is retired, and the reasoning is documented.
Test from the start. Reconciliation begins with the first migrated objects and runs until cutover.
Open code on the target. Spark, SQL and dbt that your team, or any other team, can maintain. Our accelerators are not needed to run the result.
Security in the design. Read-only access to legacy systems, least-privilege data movement, audit trails and data residency are planned from day one.
Full handover. Documentation, decisions and test records stay with you. The platform should not depend on us.
Working alongside your team and your partners
We lead, co-lead or contribute in depth, depending on what the programme needs, and work alongside internal data teams, integrators and platform vendors.
Our goal is a successful migration, not a bigger footprint. Once the platform is live and verified, the people who run it should be able to do so without us.
